Capstone Project: Synthetic Milk
As a culmination of the MMB graduate degree, students were tasked to take from their prior experiences working with entrepreneurs to formulate and pitch a business idea of their own invention utilizing microbial biotechnology. The business plan was pitched to a group of seasoned entrepreneurs across two occasions throughout the semester. Students initially began by exploring two business ideas, then narrowed it down to a single idea which was pitched, reworked and pitched again after getting feedback from investors. My team's final business idea centered around precision fermentation of microbes to produce more sustainable milk proteins for the cosmetics and self-care industry.
